Even though blogging has been around for quite some time now, the topic of getting blog sponsorships is still a bit shrouded in mystery. How do some bloggers always seem to get the best sponsorships? Should I reach out to brands or wait for them to contact me? Do brands have in-house PR teams or do they outsource their influencer programs? I’m here to tie all your questions up into one neat little bow; the answer to all of these questions is: Collectively.
Given the success of my past post on Instagram comment pods, I decided it would be fun to continue the “business of blogging” posts with another installment. After all, who better to ask than the girl with one foot in both worlds?
I was introduced to Collectively early last year through a friend of mine over lunch one day. I’d been feeling uninspired by the blogging agencies I was working with and the instant I clicked into the Collectively website, it was like a refreshing breath of air energized my creative juices. As I scrolled through the site, everything just seemed to click. A huge AHA! moment happened for me as I realized that it was Collectively that was connecting my blogging friends to some of the most enviable collaborations I’d ever seen (so THAT’S how my favorite bloggers worked with Old Navy!).
I instantly clicked onto the open positions to see if there was anything that I’d be qualified for. I didn’t go to school for marketing and had no real marketing experience, but felt confident that my 2+ years of blogging would lend themselves well to a role at Collectively. THE REST IS HISTORY. I’m so thankful that Collectively decided to take a chance on me a year ago because my life has forever been changed.
Collectively’s client roster is impressive. Some of our clients include HP, Old Navy, Sephora, La Mer, Google, Patron, Method, and Zappos – just to name a few! Collectively is by far the most premium, buttoned-up agency I’ve every had the pleasure of working with (and working for!). Every campaign is executed flawlessly and the staff is personable and friendly – I’m not biased or anything. ;) They are pros at connecting the right influencer with exactly the right campaign like some sort of digital strategy yenta. What more can I say?
Sometimes it’s fun to pull back the curtain on the blogging world, and today it was my absolute pleasure to introduce you to Collectively. In the spirit of revealing things, here’s a fun little behind-the-scenes photo of what it really looks like to be a blogger, including setting up the tripod and doing a little solo photo sesh! This is where the magic happens. ✨
I’m still a long way away from making my blog my career, but I can truly say that having this blog is what led me down my current career path and into the job that I have today at Collectively. I started this blog with little knowledge on how to market The Wink and zero social media experience. Nearly four years later, I am lucky enough to call Collectively both my day job and the most fruitful source for sponsored campaigns on The Wink.
Collectively has just launched a brand-new website and I couldn’t be happier to help spread the word. Be sure to check it out and sign up for our Community if you haven’t already! Our client roster is as diverse as our #CollectivelyCommunity, so don’t be shy – there’s a place for everyone at Collectively.
This post was sponsored by Collectively – a place that I feel proud to work at and work with on a daily basis.
