holiday-gift-guide-2016And just like that, we’ve arrived at another holiday season! As I was putting this Holiday Gift Guide together, it felt like I just created one yesterday for last Christmas. I always look forward to making these gift guides, mostly because I love to gift a lot of the items on this list (both to my loved ones and also to myself). ;)

The Lularoe Julia Dress: 3 Ways to Style It!

November 26, 2016

lularoe-julia-dress-1Popping in to say hi on this rare Saturday blog post! I just finished editing my latest video (the last one was in AUGUST!!!!) on my new computer and I couldn’t wait to share it with you. Up until now, I’d been editing my videos on my old Macbook Pro and over the summer it got to the point that it was so clogged up with stuff it had a hard time running – yes, yes I know, I probably shouldn’t have relied on a laptop to do video editing, but that thing was a beast!

Today I’m sharing three ways to style the Lularoe Julia Dress! I was recently introduced to Lularoe by a good friend and former colleague. I love how the brand’s main objective is to help women look and feel their best. I can totally get behind that because, helloooo, that’s what I’m trying to do over here, too (insert raising hand emoji)!

The Lularoe Julia Dress has quickly become a favorite of mine and has been on heavy rotation in my closet for the past few weeks. It’s a form-fitting, midi-length dress with 3/4 length sleeves and it’s seriously one of the most comfortable pieces that I own. One of my favorite parts of the dress is how easily you can transform it into an entirely different outfit with just a few simple tweaks of your accessories.

So You Want to Try Whole30?

November 22, 2016

whole-30-6With Thanksgiving just a few days away, food is at the tippy top of mind. As you may have seen on Instagram, I’ve just recently completed the Whole30! I did it for the entire month of October, ending 10/30 – just in time for Halloween candy, our 9-year anniversary dinner, and all of the delicious holiday food coming up. This is actually my third time around completing the Whole30 (or other type of elimination diet) and I’d classify it as a success.

Luxe Home Decor Buys For <$50

November 7, 2016

buddyHaving a nice home can get expensive. I’ve been known to throw myself down a Pinterest-fueled rabbit hole, furiously pinning fabulous home decor and then getting depressed when I realize I can’t even afford one pillow on that velvet-tufted couch. I am the definition of unhinged (p.s. want to follow me on Pinterest?)

You’re Sleeping on a Silk Pillowcase, Right?

November 2, 2016

silk-pillowcase-2I really hope you clicked into this article thinking “OMG no… should I be?!” after reading the title, because this post is for you. Sleeping on a silk pillowcase is something that every person should experience. From softer, healthier hair to clearer skin, there are so many benefits to sleeping on silk. What what are you waiting for?silk-pillowcase-3

Tell me more.

Sleeping on silk does incredible things for your hair. I’ve been sleeping on a silk pillowcase (this one, if you’re curious) for about 6 months and have definitely noticed a difference in the shininess and softness of my hair. Gone are my Medusa mornings – I now wake up to healthy, bouncy waves and I’m not kidding. Silk reduces the amount of friction on your hair as you toss and turn throughout the night, so you wake up to less breakage, dullness, and frizziness.

Sleeping on silk does incredible things for your skin. We spend 8 hours a night with our faces pressed against a pillow. Sleep wrinkles are real and they’re coming for ya. Silk helps the delicate facial skin retain its moisture. Unlike cotton (an absorbent fiber that draws moisture), silk will not absorb natural moisture from your face (and hair!). I’ve been waking up to healthier, more luminous-looking skin, and I know it’s not just to the credit of my skincare regimen.

Your pillow is always on the cool side. Silk is a natural heat regulator that helps maintain the correct body temperature, and doesn’t conduct heat or static electricity like other fibers (looking at you, cotton). It will keep you refreshingly cool in the summer and perfectly warm in the winter. No need to flip to the cool side of the pillow anymore!

It straight up feels luxurious. There, I said it. Sleeping on a silk pillowcase will make you feel like an Egyptian queen. Is there anything more fabulous than that?
