A Concealer Confession.

I have a confession to make…

You know how they say not to judge a book by its cover? I did. However, it wasn’t a book, it was a concealer, and I judged it not by its cover but for its packaging. But you get the point.

I’ll be the first one to admit, I’ve seen the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser around the neighboorhood (and at my neighborhood Walgreens). A few friends had told me how they loved this concealer, but the packaging totally turned me off. From the sponge tip to the maroon packaging, nothing about this concealer appealed to me.

Side note: I know… this product isn’t new and I’m VERY late to the party. Better late than never, I guess.

ANYWAY. I’m not sure exactly what finally convinced me to pick it up, but I eventually did. I’m so sorry for the judgment I passed on you, little Maybelline concealer. I hope you’ll forgive me.

I snapped this selfie in the car to show you what the concealer looks like on me. In addition to erasing my dark circles, it also stealthily covers blemishes and evens redness around my nose and mouth. It’s such a workhorse!

Fluffy (almost whipped?) texture; creamy-yet-almost-dry consistency – this concealer has quickly become a staple in my daily makeup. It reminds me of one of my favorites – NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer – but the price point is way more attainable. I would actually consider the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser to be a great dupe for the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer but Maybelline has got to do something about that name. It’s so ridiculously long that I hope I never have to type it out again.

The packaging might not be beautiful or sleek; the sponge tip might be unsightly and unsanitary; the product name may have “age rewind” in it; but, one thing is for damn sure: this concealer is pure gold.
