My Nightly Skincare Routine

January 27, 2017

nightly-skincare-routineAdmittedly, many routines in my life have fallen to the wayside as the busyness of life sets in (working out, having my eyebrows tended to, blogging… to name a few). However, I’m always on it with my nightly skincare routine. Every night I take great joy in melting away the stresses of the day with a methodical skincare routine, finishing off with a cup of tea and an episode or two of Gilmore Girls.

As a beauty blogger, I test out a lot of skincare. When I find products that I love, they become like family to me: a comforting presence in an otherwise stressful world. And because you are also my family, I’m delighted to share the lineup with you.

Tatcha Pure One-Step Camellia Cleansing Oil: It’s very rare that I go a night without using this luxurious cleansing oil. This rich oil melts away dirt and makeup and once rinsed, emulsifies into a milk and rinses clean. I’ve tried many cleansing oils but I keep coming back to this one because there’s nothing quite like it.

Muslin cloths: I keep a stack of these in my bathroom at all times (and, consequently, know it’s laundry day when I run out). After massaging the Tatcha Cleansing Oil into my skin, I rinse a muslin cloth under hot running water and take off the oil and makeup. There’s something so satisfying about rinsing my makeup from the white cloth under hot running water… such a pleasant sensory experience.

Thayer’s Lavender Witch Hazel: After cleansing, I use a cotton pad to swipe witch hazel over my skin. I like this formula because it’s super soothing and not too astringent. Simple and effective.

Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Night Pads Extreme: As I mentioned in this post, I use this Glycolic acid treatment 2 – 3 times a week and it has done wonders to improve my skin and complexion.

Rodial Snake Booster Oil & Rodial Stemcell Superfood Facial Oil: A few drops of these potent serums go a long way. I usually alternate oils daily. I pat 2 – 3 drops onto my face and neck, concentrating on areas of expression lines and wrinkles. I don’t have many, but I do like to think that I’m taking preventative measures. ;)

Nip + Fab Dragon’s Blood Fix Plumping Serum: Two pumps of this hyaluronic acid serum smoothed over my face leaves my skin fresh, plumped and hydrated the next morning. I like that this is such a lightweight gel because it absorbs into my skin immediately.

Farmaesthetics Complexion Conserve Serum: Since receiving this product as a PR sample, I haven’t gone a day without using this serum. I love the viscous, emollient texture and apply liberally (5 – 6 drops) over my face and neck.

DHC Extra Nighttime Moisture: In the winter months, I like to finish off my skincare routine with a rich moisturizer and I’ve been loving this one from DHC. I’m scraping the bottom of the jar so it looks like it’s about time to replenish!

Kiehl’s Avocado Creamy Eye Treatment: No other eye cream compares to this one. Its incredibly rich formula drenches the skin around my eye area in much-needed moisture. Every night, I use my ring finger to tap a small amount around my orbital bone on each eye.
